How car wash machines have changed over time.
The photo above indicates just how much car washes have changed over the past 50 years with a 1963 car wash on the left and an Istobal car wash from 2017 on the right.
The first high pressure car wash in 1963 already ran on rails to facilitate the washing process although was moved by human power.
Important car wash developments over the years included drying fans fitted on rollovers in the 1970s and the introduction of programmable control panels in the 1980s to control the movements of the rollover, brushes or the drying process in each individual program.
