When our customer acquired this commercial site in Western Sydney, the existing 30-metre wash bay contained a very old machine that had been sitting idle for years. After such a long period of inactivity, it had become completely unserviceable and far too cost-prohibitive to repair. The operators needed a modern, reliable and efficient solution capable of handling their diverse and demanding fleet requirements.
The solution was the installation of a new ISTOBAL HW’PROGRESS, a combination heavy vehicle wash system perfect for this large-scale fleet operator.
Fully customised to streamline high-volume washing, improve consistency and reduce manual labour, the new system has been a real game changer for their operation. Since commissioning, they have increased turnover, significantly reduced the need for manual cleaning and are now even considering opening the wash bay to the public as a commercial service.

Installation features
The newly commissioned wash bay includes several key components designed to maximise cleaning performance and operational efficiency:
High-pressure underbody wash at the bay entrance
Powerful jets remove mud, road grime and debris from hard-to-reach underside areas. The system activates automatically via entry photocells and operates at 70 bar with high-volume water delivery for exceptional coverage.
Manual high-pressure pre-wash system
A dedicated pre-wash gun enables operators to target stubborn dirt and prepare heavily soiled vehicles—particularly earth-moving machinery—for the automatic cycle. The gun operates at up to 160 bar with multiple chemical application options.
Automatic rollover with advanced brush and pressure systems
The HW’PROGRESS includes:
- Self-driven vertical brushes with overlapping scrub functionality
- A high-density polyethylene horizontal brush with adjustable pressure
- Up to 15 configurable wash programs via a touchscreen control panel
- Optional high-pressure lower side, side and top modules for complex vehicle geometries
These features allow the system to clean everything from standard trucks to vehicles with tanks, irregular shapes or accessories that are difficult to reach manually.
